Summary
The Assessment of Development Results (ADR) covers the period from 1997to 2003. The evaluation found that UNDP made a significant contribution to Egypt?s decentralization process by proposing innovative projects that responded to social needs, by bringing other partners to participate in its ?frontier? proposals to address politically sensitive issues, and by establishing a good relationship with the government. The evaluation concluded that the CO is currently making a critical and positive contribution to Egypt?s long-term social and human development. UNDP is strategically positioned to sustain and deepen its unique contribution to Egypt?s development by using its comparative advantage. The evaluation also noted the country office was leveraging and aligning resources within other key donors, bilateral donors, and multilateral donors to enhance the ?collective? contribution to Egypt?s social and human development.
