The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficiency and the impact of all the funding for Roma communities from 1996 to 2004. The study has been funded by the UNDP within the 2004 "Implementation and Monitoring of the Strategy for the Improvement of the Roma Situation" project. Since knowing the progress made in the improvement of the Roma situation is important for all parties involved, the evaluation will allow the future programs and projects to better focus on the fields that need more attention. Objectives of the evaluation: a) Analyze the institutional context in which public policies and strategies, as well as programs and projects are developed for the improvement of the Roma situation in Romania; b) Identify the leading donors for projects and programs aiming to improve the situation of the Roma; c) Analyse the social interventions in Roma communities, and the sustainability of their results.
