The recommendation is relevant and accepted.  The project ended in October 2015 with many successes recorded.  The recommendation is well taken to build on the momentum and successes of the IRAS Project.  However, since the project has ended this cannot be done within the project framework.

1.1 There are many large scale projects ongoing in the sector with obvious links to what IRAS has produced. Such projects could make use of IRAS results in their efforts to assist villages to sustain their livelihoods in sometimes new locations.

1.2 Promotional material of IRAS could be used by schools in both rural and urban areas through cooperation with Ministry of Education and projects providing support in the education sector.

NAFRI 2016/02 Completed The Agriculture Research Centre on Climate Change was established in February 2016 within NAFRI. This centre is designed to play a key role in CC related research and development utilizing many IRAS tools and building on institutional memory.

The recommendation is understood but is not applicable as the Government has made a decision to apply for new resources to prepare and implement a full-scale project which includes elements of IRAS rather than a bridging activity.
