Comments: The final evaluation of the the Support to Integrated Farming project would be done jointly with the final evaluation of the Employment and Enterprise Development for Women and Youth project.

1 MoFA should come up with strong agenda for supporting the establishment of poultry feed-mill and expansion of poultry industry.

With support from FAO, the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture have been providing continued support for the expansion of the poultry industry and with the new two year project funded by FAO ? two new poultry projects have been started. This project also supports conducting further studies regarding establishing a feed mill in Maldives.

2. Recommendation: MoFA should monitor input supply agencies for their timely supply of quality inputs of successfully demonstrated innovations.

The chemicals and pesticides bill have been drafted and submitted to AGO for deliberation in Parliament. With the endorsement of the bill, the inputs supply industry would be regulated and MoFA would be regulating the market on the quality of the products made available. A monitoring framework would be drawn up once the bill is endorsed and it would also be calling up for all the suppliers to register with MoFA.

UNDP Maldives have already moved away from the traditional support given in demonstration projects at the ground level to more of policy level interventions with this project.

MOFA has already been coordinating with IFAD and BDSC for the capacity building of the local farmers and the cooperatives. MoFA under all the new projects have included a component of capacity development of the agriculture research centers and the project funded by China Govt, has a strong support role in developing the research centers.

A project exit strategy has already been developed as the ground level interventions are been supported through IFAD and BDSC support and the policy level support has been continued with the support from FAO.

UNDP have supported the Ministry of Economic Development in developing a partnering platform (partnering 4 developments) for partnership building and linking the markets with one another. This model has already been put into practice by MED through its BDSC programme.
