1. Recommendation: Work closely with other partners and international NGOs active in the border region and explore opportunities for more cross-border exchanges and people-to-people contact and trade, security constraints notwithstanding.

Synergies and joint work to be implemented aimed on capacity building of stakeholders on such issues as cross-border management, economic cooperation and trade (supporting doc, specifying activities to be implemented by LITACa project under BMP is attached). • It was agreed with JICA (donor) that key staff of both LITACA and BMP will be involved in work of during field monitoring visits, plan joint activities within both projects, participation in the work of thematic groups (e.g. border management, cross-border economic cooperation and cross-border trade) and Project Board (Steering Committee) Meetings (supporting docs are attached).

Based on it, community groups, interested public organizations were invited to submit their applications for LITACA Small Grants Program (up to USD 10K) aimed on local economic development, employment generation and production of goods and services locally. In total 20 small grants initiatives supported (minutes of the evaluation of case is attached). • The groups are now encouraged to join into the “Union of Producers” (the name that was agreed by the founders of Association with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan). • Capacity building Plan for 2019 – 2020 was developed with the support of key founder of the “Union of Producers” – PO “Cross-Border Trade Center”, the organization that will provide technical advisory services to the members of association (Producers Union) during the project and beyond (supporting docs are attached).
6.2 Further explore the potential of scaling up OVOP initiatives to promote the cross-border economic cooperation.
