1. Recommendation: Of the four hospitals selected for installing Solar Water Heaters only one was completed and in use. The proper piping systems at the other three (3) were not in place through lack of funds.

The UNDP brought this to the attention of the PCJ, the Government implementing agency, the Government has agreed to cover the cost of installation of proper piping systems

2. Recommendation: The training and workshops on capacity building and sustainability should also be conducted for schools. This could perhaps include the establishment of an energy committee where students would be a part of this initiative as children are the best ambassadors of change..

UNDP will seek to disseminate the results of the audits widely and seek funding to support government in extending training to schools.

Jamaica 2008/06 Completed The Jamaica CO acknowledges recommendation. The CO is in the process of prepared and initiation plan for the energy protfolio and will be preparing a Project document for involvement in programming in the Energy sector. The national priority in the energy sector will be identified during this prcess.
