1. Recommendation: Though the financial resources are very scarce, GED is recommended to maintain the established cooperation and coordination liaison in order to sustain SGBV objectives on the political agenda of the GoS. This could be achieved through the so-called open method of coordination (OMC) which can be a key for action when political will is lacking but a common concern is perceived. GED, supported by the UNDP, is urged to undertake leadership to communicate and coordinate very concrete and achievable targets set in the National Strategy on Combating Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Family and Intimate Partnership, monitor and evaluate their implementation as a mutual learning process.

UNDP will continue to support the efforts of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Policy ? Gender Equality Directorate in the implementation of the National Strategy for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women in Family and Intimate Partner Relationships. Concrete possibility for furthering the cooperation is the imminent implementation of the UNTFVaW project ?Integrated Response to VaW in Serbia? (2012-2014).

2. Recommendation: The UNDP is recommended to plan strategically more focused project initiatives and seek for available donors within the EU accession process in order to further promote human rights and combat gender based violence. The built strong multi-level partnership with civil society organizations during the Project enhances the strategic role of the UNDP to continue empowering the voices of the diverse grassroots organization in the path of legal and social reforms which have to be undertaken by the State in the EU accessions process. Relying on this partnership with NGOs, the UNDP could continue monitoring the implementation of commitments undertaken by the GoS to combat gender based violence and provide technical support as required. This support to the development of combating violence and social inclusion strategies could be developed into the important and timely instruments required by the EU and applied in the transition period.

UNDP will continue supporting civil society organizations as specialized service providers to survivors/victims of VaW, as well as in their role in advocacy and watchdog of the GoS commitments in this field. UNDP will provide technical and expert support to GoS in aligning policy and legislative measures in the field of combating VaW with the international standards and instruments in this field, focusing particularly on CoE and EU instruments.

3. Recommendation: The UNDP is recommended to actively engage in mainstreaming human rights approach on gender based violence at the cross-border cooperation level through regional networks or through support to developing their people as a technical assistance resource. Good practices, accumulated knowledge, capacities and experiences of the implemented Project is the excellent know-how instruments to be replicated in the neighbouring countries in the South-East European region and adjusted to their specific contexts. This might enhance development across neighbouring countries towards convergence, based on fundamental rights perspective.

UNDP will keep disseminating the know how gained through the SGBV project, assuring the continuation and scaling up of the best practices and will respond to any request for targeted expert consultations in order to transfer expertise and best practices in different contexts.

4. Recommendation: The UNDP is recommended to continue its effort in developing social and institutional environment that will contribute to sustainable and integrated response to VAW in Serbia. UNDP, UNWOMEN and UNICEF ? and supported by UNTFVAW, can make a significant input in both strengthening political commitments to reduce gender based violence and mainstreaming human rights and gender perspective in policymaking process
