1. Recommendation: Evaluation issue and Recommendation 1: There is a need to monitor the completion of AAP activities more specifically, the community irrigation in Kayonza District, the development of the early warning system, RENVIS?. and to mobilize additional financial resources to make them operational.

Management response The recommendation is well noted. The completion of the AAP activities will be completed through LDCF project implemented by REMA. The Early warning system, RENVIS were installed and the equipment have been handed over to Rwanda Meteorological Agency which is under the Ministry of Infrastructure. The Early Warning System is now operational and plans are underway to provide up-to date weather information to the local communities to support their decision making capabilities with regard to weather issues. The Ministry of Disaster Management and Refugees Affairs is also using information provided by the weather equipment to monitor potential weather hazards.

2. Recommendation: Evaluation issue and Recommendation 2: The Project developed interesting M&E tools and improved the Rwanda environment information system (RENVIS) but these tools are not yet fully operational. There is a need for more trainings and applications of these tools and also to promote their use by the ongoing REMA Projects.

Management response: The recommendation is validated. UNDP will continualy encourage REMA to mobilize more funds in Envirnment and climate change sub sector as this sub sector is now a cross cutting in EDPRS 2.
