1. Recommendation:

 In the CPD 2017 - 2021, UNDP should focus on the same objectives and, also, includes in its support the development of institutional, organizational and operational capacities of the governmental institutions, but also, to the partners involved in the project’s execution and implementation.

The new CPD generally includes similar objectives, with a stronger focus on capacity development of non-government partners, including the private sector.

2. Recommendation:

UNDP should extend its support to the Government of Thailand in order to strengthen the strategic reflection in the policies development and consolidation of the Democratic Governance & Social Advocacy work of the Country Office to better tailor UNDP’s portfolio to current and emerging democratic governance challenges.

Within the challenging political and governance context, the country office, in the new CPD, has included efforts to strengthen its work in the democratic governance and social advocacy space, in particular through social innovation and continued focus on anti-corruption work.

3. Recommendation:

It is suitable that in the CPD 2017 - 2021, the UNDP includes as objective, a concrete support, in order to ensure the involvement of the media and universities in the projects achievement.

New media partnerships are being forged to support, in particular, general awareness raising of UNDP's programme in Thailand. Universities are key partners in the social innovation and anti-corruption efforts.

4. Recommendation:

It is suitable that in the future programme, UNDP includes the establishment of dialogue’s platforms between the different actors involved on the project’s achievement.

All projects have project boards with very wide memberships. As a pilot, UNDP will also include citizens in these project advisory boards, in particular in the social innovation project and the public fundraising project.

5. Recommendation:

UNDP should strengthen its role as coordinator of international aid and define (in collaboration with other partners) a resources mobilization strategy.

UNDP is taking the lead in engaging with the government of Thailand in its efforts to increase south-south cooperation, including capacity building of Thai officials and institutions to become better donors. UNDP has it's own resource mobilization strategy for the new CPD
