UNV to provide financial and technical support to extend the coverage of the National Volunteer Center in Burundi (CNVB) to 5 provinces, including the 3 ones already covered by the project, with the aim to go nationwide at a later stage.

The recommendation was rejected due to the end of the project and the handing over to the Government of Burundi. In 2018, the National Assembly and the Senate adopted the legal framework that will define the activities of the National Volunteer Center in Burundi (CNVB). The process is currently pending the signing of the presidential decree that will make the legal framework enforceable. Under the supervision of the new ministry in charge, the Ministry of Youth, Posts and Information Technologies, the CNVB will then be responsible for the management of the national volunteering program in the country.
