- UNDP Tanzania Country Office (CO) launched its new Country Programme Document (CPD) 2016 -2021 on the 1st of July 2016. The CO CPD was designed in view of the changing development landscape; the existing and emerging national priorities i.e. the second Five Year Development Plan (FYDP II 2016-2021), the Tanzania Development Vision 2025 and Zanzibar Successor Strategy 2016 - 2021. The CPD is also aligned to the UNDP’s global Strategic Plan 2014/17 and the United Nations Development Assistance Plan (UNDAP) phase II and has also taken into consideration the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that were adopted in September of 2015. The CPD runs concurrently with the government of Tanzania’s (GoT’s) development frameworks. The CPD aims to enhance the strategic focus of UNDP’s support to the government of Tanzania and will focus on three main strategic programmatic areas namely (i) inclusive economic growth and sustainable livelihoods; (ii) environment sustainability, climate change and resilience and (iii) inclusive democratic governance. The total budget required to implement the CPD 2016/21 is USD 120,903,000. The total budget to implement the Evaluation plan is USD 1,310,000 over the 5 years. The Evaluation Plan will implement mid-term and terminal evaluations of the three programme outcomes, and of various projects within the outcomes. Furthermore it will also conduct Gender thematic evaluation at mid-terminal and final year of the CPD.
