This Evaluations Plan contains an appropriate mix of programme and project evaluations, including a cost sharing agreement or partnership protocol such as the Global Environment Facility that evaluations are mandatory. Also, all evaluations are fully-costed and will focus on determining the relevance, impact, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of UNDP work in order to make adjustments and improve contributions to development. The planned evaluations will support the CO to determine whether areas or project designs, implementation and delivery are effective and addressing the development challenges mentioned in the CPD, namely on poverty eradication and inclusive economic growth, environment and resilience, participatory and inclusive governance areas. In addition, the country office has rationalized and selected portfolio evaluation on the interventions contributing to strengthening governance institutions. Furthermore, the evaluations will be conducted in a manner that promotes national ownership and increases the participation of national counterparts, including beneficiaries, through inclusive and participatory approaches, and in accordance with the principles of aid effectiveness – particularly national ownership and mutual accountability. The learning from the evaluations will inform the design of future programmes/projects, improve implementation and serve as knowledge management products at various levels, both internally and externally.
