Fully Accept: The two main external risks that have negatively impacted this project are the COVID-19 pandemic and the locust invasion in the Horn of Africa. TheCOVID-19 pandemic resulted in the tentative suspension and postponement of project activities while hugely impacting the economy of both countries.

Fully accept: The Cross-border peace projects need to factor in the role of politicians and influential traders in enhancing and promoting peacebuilding efforts. The influence of political class both in power and those interested in joining elective positions cannot be overlooked in similar interventions.

KCO and ECO Cross-Border Focal Points 2022/01 Completed UNDP through the support of the Africa Borderlands Center supported a total of 12 vulnerable groups (women and youth groups) living along the Kenya/Ethiopia border who are affected by impacts of drought and conflict. The ABC project provided livelihood assets to vulnerable youth and women in a bid to diversify their livelihood and supported entrepreneurship. This gives a head start to the target groups, noting their vulnerability compounded by the tough economic times in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic. Support to these groups contribute to enhanced resilience, promote inter-communal relations and strengthen social cohesion. Rehabilitation of boreholes in border towns was also done so as to reduce resource-based conflicts. History
