Summary

The project objective is: to promote a landscape approach to protection of internationally important biodiversity, and land and forest resources in the Western Tian Shan (WTS) mountains, with the project components :

  • Conservation and sustainable management of Key Biodiversity Areas within the WTS.
  • Ecosystem resilience and habitat connectivity in WTS are enhanced by regulating land and forest use in buffer zones and corridors.
  • Strengthening national capacities for regional and global cooperation.
