Programme Manager 2014/12 Completed Following the CDGG End-of-Project Evaluation in August 2014, the political and security situation in the country deteriorated and SADC urged the country to hold snap National Assembly Election on February 28 2015. This did not allow UNDP to have enough time to focus on capacity building during the “elections down-time” instead the UNDP provided technical assistance and created a conducive environment to enable credible elections outcome. Another snap election was held on June 3 2017 where UNDP provided technical support. In both cases, the elections were lauded as credible and transparent, by national and international observers, as well as political observers. History
