Project Team 2021/01 Completed Events and activities will continue during the year according to what has been planned with the Network. Despite that coordination’s have been slowed down due to the pandemic, the communication strategy has been readjusted and new activities have been planned and already put into action to broaden the scope of its impact. The Peru Fog Oases Network, with the technical assistance of the project, organized a successful week-long event to celebrate their anniversary. This event included a series of conferences and town-halls, with the participation of scientific experts, environmental champions, local and national government officials, who shared their views and expertise on different topics concerning lomas, their conservation and their importance especially in the present world context. This was done via livestreaming through the Networks Facebook page. History

Recommendation partially accepted since the project had already been executing recommended activities by the time of the MTE. The project has held meetings with Sustainable Cities and Green City, DESCO, PREDES among others. DESCO has been financing small projects with one of the partner CSO with which the project works and exchange of experiences have taken place with Green City and there is an interest on part their part on replicating the fog catching-automated irrigation system being piloted in VMT. The project is serving as a liaison between the MML and PGRLM with these other initiatives, as both institutions will give sustainability to these links once the EbA Lomas project is completed.

Recommendation partially accepted because the project already identified and supports associations to form partnerships with Companies, Universities (through the I Am Volunteer Network) and Cultural and Youth Organizations.

 

The call for cultural and youth organizations has been made through the Culture Points Program of the Ministry of Culture (MINCUL) in order to be interested in getting involved in environmental issues, to put on their agenda the theme of the conservation of the ecosystems of hills and to support in the awareness of the inhabitants of the city.

 

In addition, the project has been working with corporate volunteering through the platform "Companies that inspire" since October with the participation of companies such as Telefónica, Isa Rep and Cálidda. All of which has been done in coordination with the UNV office.
