Summary
This Joint UN Programme on Development Cooperation Effectiveness and Harmonization, known in short as the "Aid Coordination project", supports the Government's efforts to improve effectiveness of aid, reduce poverty and achieve the MDGs through a) enhancing information sharing on aid and enhanced aid management; b) building an enabling environment for policy coherence; and c) reducing burden on the civil service through greater harmonization of donor procedures in line with the principles of the Rome Declaration, the Paris Declaration and OECD/DAC Guidelines on aid effectiveness. Initial project design of the aid management project and its implementation show that UN agencies need clear guidance on Joint Programme Formulation and Implementation
